Gordon McKee
gordon@lloydstravel.com
Gordon has been a travel consultant since 1996. Before that he was a bookseller at several Vancouver bookstores taking advantage of his degree in English Literature. He feels that his two careers have a number of points in common. In both, clients are sometimes looking for relaxation, sometimes for adventure or sometimes for something to broaden their horizons. So it has always been his job to match up clients with what will be right for them.

A love of travelling is what brought Gordon into the profession. His extensive travels in Europe, North Africa and Asia have all left memories and opinions. Paris is a particular favourite but bargaining in the markets of Morocco or Malaysia is also great sport. Tracking down collections of Van Dyke portraits was a project on several European trips (the Prado in Madrid has the best assortment in one spot). Discovering local culture is a big part of Gordon’s travel plans; The Magic Flute in Vienna and shadow puppets in Khota Baru are two memorable highlights.

If you need help finding that charming little hotel in Paris or the best party in Sydney give Gordon a call.

Judy Fawcett
judy@lloydstravel.com
The travel bug hit Judy after reading Johanna Spyri’s children’s novel Heidi. Life on the Canadian prairies paled in comparison to the adventures and misfortunes of Heidi, an orphan, who is left with her grandfather in the Swiss Alps and Judy dreamed of travelling to Switzerland.

No sooner was she home from her first trip to Switzerland, which lived up to her every expectation, than Judy started gathering information from every available source and planning more travels. As her collection grew, family and friends designated her “go to” person for travel information.

After working in public relations and in radio Judy decided to turn her passion for travel into her profession. She enrolled in the diploma travel program at a local junior college and after completion began a career designing and, at times, escorting small special interest tours be it a family trip to Greece, a tour of local gardens, a 50 year anniversary choir reunion in Germany, or a knitters’ camp in the Yukon.

Her love of the outdoors and various hobbies have enhanced Judy’s travel adventures which include paddling among hippos in Botswana, knitting in the Galapagos, snowshoeing in Switzerland, attending a crime writer’s festival in England, as well as hiking local mountains and paddling the Bowron Lakes.

Judy’s nontravelling adventures include volunteering at the 2010 Winter Olympics and tutoring students in reading.

For Judy being in the travel business means helping clients plan trips that will meet their expectations and create lifelong memories.
